If you have, then you can guarantee others did too.  I know I did in the beginning!!  That's one reason I became a Volunteer Coordinator, so I could help new people (or others who just need a little direction), find their way to one of our awesome projects. As a Volunteer Coordinator, our goals are:

  1. Ensure every member has the chance to participate in a project that interests them.
  2. Connect members with project leaders who can guide them through the process of joining a project, and give them clear directions on how to contribute.
  3. Ensure members with Pre-1700 self-certification are connected with the proper projects.
  4. Review volunteer tags and suggest projects as appropriate.

If you think this is something you would be interested in, or you'd like to help people avoid the struggles YOU had when joining WikiTree, please let me know.  I can get you started today.  We need your help!!

John, you are a hoot. I'm still not giving up on recruiting you, either! I'll get you yet! You're one of the friendliest people here!!

Thank You Summer.
Somebody has to sing ! ;-O ♪ ♫ ... Yepper I can Juggle / Multi- ... my managed profiles are getting huge. I feel bad, I joined 6 or 5 Projects, & have backed away from some of them them now *sigh* I may have to back away from The Texas project for a bit. I have learned lots about them all, Military and War always; I love to dress up any random Veterans profiles (yes I leave more comments than I used to). William Halstead MOH  needs my undivided attention. I worked on some Notable Woolley Friends Quakers Shakers Mormons LDS profiles today. IBBL :)

That's a hard row to hoe :)
Naw, I think pickin is worse.

Any relation to the Vickery Blvd of Ft Worth?

Lynette, No ma'am. But most Vickery that I can find have originated from England / UK., that I have researched through "One Name Study".

  My line: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Vickery-361

Immigrated from England 1853 at 18 y/o. Settled in Bridgewater Township, Somerset, New Jersey. Married: Margaret Haney (1841-1910)., 4 May 1859.

Vickery, Texas, Vickery Meadow was annexed by City of Dallas in the 1940's http://www.dallasobserver.com/news/vickery-meadow-an-oral-history-7108931

There is now in Dallas... Vickery Place & Park : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vickery_Place,_Dallas , https://flashbackdallas.com/category/neighborhoods/lower-greenvillem-streets/ .

I have met many Vickerys in Texas in 45 yrs. but I am not a-kin to any that I am aware of.

Ironically I was born in Up-State- New York, but when I was 15  y/o in 1975 worked at a Pawn & Variety store just a few blocks from Vickery Park & Drive off of lower Greenville Ave, Dallas., on the corner of Sears St & Greenville Ave is a 3 story building, in the building that was the oldest Sears Store In the State Of Texas, It had a hand powered sisal, rope operated elevator. :)
