It appears that you were able to imput a DNA test today. Wiki updates over night and that means that tomorrow you will see the details you imput on your profile.

John,

Wikitree is much different than any other site you may have worked with.  That means there is a great deal to learn and do differently than you may have done in the past.  I see on your profile that you have not yet added parents and grandparents - so even though you have DNA entered it will not connect to anyone.  DNA on Wikitree is not like DNA on GEDmatch for example where possible matches are generated by the system.  On Wikitree all that is entered is the test type and name and number - so we have to build the set of ancestors and use DNA to confirm the relationships - this takes time but does give a complete picture when the effort is made.

This is going to sound like I'm being a DNA snob, but people should be steered away from companies like Genebase and DNATribes.

Their test are expensive when compared against the two best testing labs for genealogy, FTDNA and AncestryDNA . . . and provides much less useful data than the big three, FTDNA, AncestryDNA and 23andMe.

Add your GeneBase results to YSearch.  Here are the conversions you will need to make:

http://irishtype3dna.org/convertmarkers.php#genebase

On your DNA Tests page in WikiTree, select that you took an Other Y-DNA test and add your YSearch ID.

Sincerely, Peter
