Info on John Evans - 84th Foot Yorks/ Lancs Regiment

Hello,

I'm looking for  information on my greatest grandfather John Evans with the 84th foot (yorks/ Lancs Regt).arrived in India from UK in 1845, wife Maria Mitchell(married in India).. Father was Thomas Evans(school master)

My 3rd great grandfather was in the 54th Regiment of Foot out of West Norfolk. A lot of information about his service years and battles was found at Kew in England. Have you thought of checking there about John Evans?

 His birth should be around 1822 since he came to India in 1845 with the regiment and married in  1847 aged 25.

The only thing that can connect is that he came with the 84 foot regiment in 1845 and later moved on to be the Superintendent of Records DPW at Arcot. His wife name is Maria. His children are Susan, Mark, Richard Sarah,  John William, Thomas. John's father was Thomas Evans(School teacher)
