Does anyone have a Mamie Lambert in their family?

Question

My great-grandfather Edward Millen b. 1871 in Canada was suppose to be married to a Anna M Lambert. However, I found him married to a Mamie Lambert. Now Anna M Lambert is suppose to be my grandfather Fred Joseph Millen b.March 1898 in Elm Hall Michigan. I found him and his sister Avis Millen b. 1901 listed with their mother as Mamie Lambert b. 1879.

Comments

Mamie can also often be a nickname, typical for Mary, Marie etc. and also might be used if a child has one of those as a middle name.  Ie. Mother= Anne Mary/Marie, daughter Anne Mary/Marie mother might be called Anne, and daughter Mamie to distinguish, or both might be called Mamie- in a family tradition sort of way.  My grandmother was Mary - but no one ever called her anything but Mamie.

This here is my Grandfather Fred Joseph Millen. The J was mistaken for an I when it was printed on many documents.

I strongly believe that this is in fact my Grandfather Fred Joseph Millen parents Edward Millen and Mary Millen. I also noticed that on the marriage record of Edward Millen and Mamie Millen that both had the same birth year. However, Grandfather Fred Joseph Millen mother is Anna M Lambert which I found out whose middle name is May. Her birth year is 1882.

How can these two ladies be my grandfather's mother/

This is all so strange. I was talking to my mother about this the other day. She told me that Anna had a sister that she thought they called Mamie whose real name was Mary. However, I am starting to think that maybe there were maybe two Anna Lambert in the same family. Maybe a mother and a daughter. I am going to check this out more.
