Who are the parents of Hendrick Brower?

Hello-- I am working on my Brower/Brewer/Brouwer line from NJ to Berkeley Co., VA, Washington Co., PA, Adams Co., Ohio.  My earliest proven ancestor is Hendrick Brower/Henry Brewer [Brower-1381].  There seems to have been a tremendous amount of research done and documented about him as well as DNA research.  Traditional parents apparently Abraham Brouwer [Brouwer-784] and Mary Wilts [Wilts-9].  Some researchers think they (Abraham & Mary) are figments of someone's imagination.  Proof of their existence certainly seems to be lacking.  How can I establish the correct parentage for Hendrick Brower [Brower-1381]?

Thanks so much.

Though they don't claim this data to be 100% certain, the New Jersey Genealogical Society has in their Brouwer group sheet that Hendrick was the son Abram Brouwer and Mary E. Wilts and that Abram the son of Abraham Uldrickse Brouwer and Elizabeth Ackerman. http://njgsbc.org/files/BCFamilies/BCFam-Brouwer.pdf Search this PDF for Hawk to find the entry. There are a few sources listed under Abram Brouwer that might help.

That was a good source and it led me in all sorts of different directions.  I am building my documents pile and trying to connect the dots for the Brouwer/Brewer family.  It is all great fun and your reply is much appreciated.
After pouring over much of the data online and re-reading some of the documents connected with the "Low Dutch Colony" in Jefferson County, Kentucky I think different conclusions might be offered for which Abraham Brewer was in Berkeley County, Virginia 1774 and which Abraham Brewer might be the father of Hendrick Brewer/Brouwer.  A summation is posted with [[Brouwer-784| Abraham Brouwer]] profile for anyone interested or who would like to comment.
