There is a mystery on his father, maybe some others could help me solve it?!

This is a very nice profile! It would be wonderful to solve the mystery!!
I've gotten a lot of DNA ancestor hints for other Hudsons in Rutherford County as well, all born near the same time as him, but I just can't put HIM with THEM. It's driving me crazy!

Wade Hampton (Burden) Borin [[Burden-646]] was an interesting character.  In the 1850 census he and the rest of the family had the surname Burden and were listed as Mutlatto. Later Wade took the surname Borin and self- identified as white.  He was in the  US Army (West Virginia Infantry)  in the Civil War and was out west afterwards.  He married Mary Dardinger and they had 9 children.  I have some additional documents I can upload if he is selected as Collaborative Profile of the week.

Thanks for these suggestions!! I love the ones we have so far!!  Please post any profiles you would like!

Anne is better at explaining this but I am going to try to tell you what makes a profile a great choice for this.

A profile that needs sources, a bio or to be connected to the tree is good. A profile that could use some work is perfect because we are all going to work on it together! An interesting person is good. Most Civil War profiles are interesting.

For the Civil War, a mystery or unresolved question is interesting. Also a profile where the brothers also served would make for an interesting collaboration. Brothers that served on different sides is sad but intriguing. The connected profiles are worked on also.

I have a few Galvinized Yankees in my family line who served on both sides!  Some women served in the Civil War and this is always interesting and difficult to get records!

If you need help with genealogy, this is a great opportunity!!

Anne will help us pick the perfect one for the project but just posting your profile can get people interested in helping you with it!!
Dave,

This profile fits and the orignal pension application is nice! I grew up in Spartanburg, SC so our ancestors probably served together!

That's a very well researched profile!  Are there any clues? Members of his unit with the same last name?

Here is the profile that the CPOTW project choose for Memorial Day, bassed on the fact there is a reliable source indicating he died in service but almost nothing else on the profile. Can you make this profile as outstanding as the examples posted here?  Let's give it a try!!
