Why is one removed as profile manager after merge?

After the merge of  Claes Martenszen Van Rosenvelt (Van Rosenvelt-3) and Claes Van Rosenvelt (Van Rosenvelt-1) was completed, I noticed that I am no longer on the list of profile managers.  Why did this happen? I had researched, developed and created Van Rosenvelt-3.

Hi Tom,

It's because the profile that Van Rosenvelt-3 was merged into was a project protected profile. Whenever a profile is merged into a project protected profile the Profile Manager of the non-project protected profile is removed as a PM but still kept on the Trusted List. It's done automatically by the system.

First time I have run across this situation after numerous merges involving PPPs....Curious, Why? Does not make sense.
Hoped Related Questions would link to the long discussion had that led to this decision and change. It's relatively recent-- within last six months?

The only way you could be removed as manager after a merge is if the other manager removes you.

You are still on the trusted list so the only thing you can not do with the resulting profile is change the LNAB so I would not get worked up about being removed as a manager.
Not sure of what you mean "if the other Manager removes you" the other manager(s) to my knowledge do/es not have the authority to remove managers.  This has to be done on a higher level .
Actually any manager of a profile can remove anyone as manager and even remove anyone from the trusted list of the profile they manage. In your case you were downgraded to just being on the trusted list by the system because the resulting profile was PPP. That is done to protect the spelling of the LNAB which is the only thing that a non manager cannot change.
