There are a few inconsistencies in the data for Přemyslovci-2 (Wenceslaus of Bohemia):
- The Preferred Name has "Vaclav , Ksiaze" which results in "Vaclav, Ksiaze z Czechy", a nice touch to render "Wencelslaus, Prince of Bohemia" as his name, except it is in Polish and the Czech equivalent is "český kníže". So, I would like to delete the Polish.
- The Birth Place given is Praha, Praha, Czechoslovakia. At his birth his uncle Spytihněv I ruled Central Bohemia and non-ruling members of the family resided in other castles of the territory. The modern literature doubts Prague as his place of birth but is unable to identify in which castle he was born. A strong candidate is Budeč castle where it is known he received much of his education later. In my opinion the best we can say is that he was born in Středočeský and explain the rest in the bio.
- In the Death Place we have "Brandys nad Labem near Prague". He died in Stará Boleslav which joined with Brandýs nad Labem to form Brandýs nad Labem-Stará Boleslav only in 1960.
- Death Date: We have September 28, 935. All but one of the older sources list dates corresponding to 929, only Widukind of Corvey lists 935. In both years September 28 was a Monday making both a possibility. Again, this should probably be discussed in the bio.
Dušan Třeštík who is considered one of the best experts in early Přemyslid history has written extensively on these issues, albeit in Czech and I am not aware of a translation. But many of the original sources are available on-line in Latin or Latin translations from Old Church Slavonic.
