Hi Mary Louise, Thanks for joining us and volunteering to be the profile manager on these profiles.
Importing documents is tricky because if the document is copyrighted, you need to have the permissions before you use the document. Please read the Sources section of the index for more information.
Even with permissions, you would probably have to take a picture of the document and post the picture on the profile(s).
What I do, however, is I look for an on-line version of the document and then link to the document from the profile Sources section. For instance, I don't take gravestone pictures from FindAGrave because many (most?) have copyrights. Instead, I link directly to the FindAGrave memorial from the Sources section so that a profile reader can click and go straight to the FindAGrave page. I use this format for my FindAGrave links:
*[http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=123456 Find-A-Grave Virtual Cemetery memorial #123456] in Name and Location of the cemetery.
Of course, the blue text needs to be replaced with the actual memorial number and cemetery information from FindAGrave.
As a further example, I often link to the records on the Daughters of the American Revolution database. This format goes in the Sources section for DAR records:
*{{DAR-grs|A105362 | Ethan Smith | today's date}}
The DAR Ancestor number, name and today's date need to be added to the format and posted in the Sources section of the profile. This is how it looks when someone reads the profile.
Daughters of the American Revolution, DAR Genealogical Research Databases, database online, (http://www.dar.org/ : accessed June 5, 2015), "Record of Ethan Smith", Ancestor # A105362.
I hope this helps your research. Thank you for posting sources to the profiles you have adopted!
