Two Rogers, Fytche-9 and Fitch-200 both as sons of Thomas & Agnes Fitch, should they be merged? [closed]

Roger Fytche listed as born abt 1500 in Lindsell, Essex, England and died 1559 in Panfield, Essex, England; Roger Fitch is listed as born about 1511 in Bocking, Essex, Engand and died January 12, 1558 in Bocking, Essex, England.   Roger Fitch is an orphan profile, and has no wife whereas Roger Fytche's wife is Margery Humphrey.  I do not believe that there are two Roger Fitches (Fytches) of similar ages with death dates nearly the same. I am new to this, can anyone merge these two?  Thanks B. O'Reilly

Just a note that the new year wasn't regarded as starting until March at the time so what we would now call January 1559 would have been called January 1558 in contemporary sources.
Which is why I think there was only one Roger Fitch/Fytche.  I just don't know who to ask for the merge, and whether he went by Fytche or Fitch.

Hi, the correct surname is Fytche.  This particular Roger is my 12th great-grandfather!  I am the profile manager of Fytche-9 (one of the two profiles you mentioned).  When you come across a potential duplicate, you can take one of several steps.

  • Propose a merge.  The link to do so is located at the bottom of a profile
  • Post a message on the profile page and the profile manager(s) is/are notified.
  • Send a private message from the profile page of one of the potential duplicates, making note of the profile # of the duplicate.

.Since you're new, you should read this:  http://www.wikitree.com/blog/how-to-merge-wikitree-profiles/

and this:  http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Merging

You also can post on G2G, noting both profiles and being sure to tag your 'question' with any projects it might be a part of (in this case, EuroAristo).  The tag brings it to the attention of project leaders and members that 'follow' that tag.  You can see a list of the most popular tags here:  https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/tags

Meanwhile, I've merged the two profiles.  Thanks very much for bringing it to my attention.
