When I type 'scanned photo' to my grandfather's picture something is missing because the picture doesn't load.

Charles, There are more steps you need to take.  You can find your GEDCOM at http://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=Special:UploadGedcom&action=report&gu_id=66772

Now you need to review the Compare Report, make appropriate adjustments, and approve the upload.
Dear Vic,

Thanks for you swift reply. My question has to do with the GEDCOM file I wish to review the contents of. Having once downloaded the file, as outlined, I must review and validate the contents at once or the file disappears. After reading about the imported GEDCOM file I though it was stored for 30 days while I verify the contents for accuracy.

If I store the contents on Excel how do I then re-import it as a GEDCOM once the verification is done.

It seems to me that Wikitree would have that file for perusal the whole convert and re-import seems arcane.

Sincerely yours, Charles Lovelace
