His daughter is shown twice in the WikiTree profile.

Based on the birth year of his daughter, I would think that his birth year, 1748, is more likely to be correct. There is also a Pedigree Resourch File submission showing him born in 1748 with death in 1840.

The second entry for his daughter shows her being born after she died, so that would be something to remove as it looks like a duplicate, except for the incorrect birth date.
