Thanking -- for prolific users, perhaps not as easy as planned?

I found a post from February 2016 by [[Smith-62120]Ellen Smith] (hope that works!).  Love it!  Want to thank!  Well...

*No thank buttons or links in the vicinity of the post, or anywhere I looked on G2G.

*Directions at [http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Thank-Yous] were from point-of-view of me.  When I tried applying them to Ellen, the result was icky:

*-Her G2G User page lists her contributions in the order she made them, but stepping through dozens of pages to find February 17 cannot be termed "easy".

*-Same on her main WikiTree page.

Hi Juli

I think the Ellen smith is http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Smith-62120

You can click on her profile and say a thank you on her message board.
LOL. You have my attention now.

As T. Cassidy says, you can send a note on the message board. Or post a comment in the string after my comment or answer to say "thanks" -- and I'll get an email about your comment.
Hiya, gal!  Yes, but... I WANT TO VOTE MY THANKS!  That is, I want to click the link "Thank Ellen for this" next to your (wonderful!) contribution.  It seems that doing so is only feasible for recent contribs.  (And even for recent contribs -- say, Vic Watt's answer to my 'templates' question, which answer is now a mere 19 hours old -- I cannot find that contrib, let alone the "Thank Vic for this" link.)
For some reason, the only G2G questions for which a "Thank You" can be recorded are (1) questions that are linked to a profile and (2) answers to questions that are linked to a profile.

Fortunately, when it comes to thanks, it's the thought that counts. :-)
