Is this a post from you? It looks like it references the same people.  If so, there is more info that may help find them.

  • "I have been searching for any info on Gilbert Howard Manning, married to Rosa (do not know ) last name Gilbert Manning was white, Rosa was black, Gilbert and Rosa had two children Virgie and Gilbert Jr. they lived in Copiah County according to the U.S. Census. Gilbert Jr. married Addie Smith in August of 1832 [1932?] both Gilbert and Rosa was noted on the marriage license, I'm assuming they had separated during their sons marriage, Gilbert Sr. Was in Tunics , Rosa was in Jackson Mississippi, Gilbert Sr. daughter was married to a Gil Thomas, Virgie was killed in New Orleans but buried in Jackson, if any one have any info please contact me. Gilbert and Gilbert Jr. would be my grandfather and great grandfather on my mother side her name is Virgie Ruth her brothers name is Billy Howard they where born in 1936 and 1934 - submitted by Deborah Jackson on 07/14/2015 Read more at: http://www.locateancestors.com/manning-born-in-1888/#ixzz4ACIalc6H

This looks like the Census that was referred to: In 1910, Gilbert Manning, a 21 year old general farmer laborer, a mulatto b. Mississippi, lived at No 102 Turkey Creek Road, Beat 5, Copiah, Mississippi, with his wife Rosa, a 21 year old mulatto b. Mississippi.  Their parents were all born in Mississippi.  The couple has been married for 2 years, an Rosa hasn't had any children.  This is Gilbert's second marriage.("United States Census, 1910," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MP84-NL9 : accessed 31 May 2016), Gilbert Manning, Beat 5, Copiah, Mississippi, United States; citing enumeration district (ED) ED 58, sheet 8A, NARA microfilm publication T624 (Washington, D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.); FHL microfilm 1,374,751.)

Thank you, I have found my grandfather in the Jackson Mississippi phone directory, my mother seems to think her father Gilbert died in the mid 60's I believe it was her grandfather. I am interested about the 1st and second marriage mentioned and if there are any more siblings, The Sr. Gilbert had a sister here in Jackson Ms.
