Problem with error Mother is Male

+12 votes
I already had several problems when switching the father and the mother.

When making the switch, suddenly the parents privacy is changed and I cannot complete and change the other parent.
Also I cannot restore the old situation, so father and mother are now the same.
It seems to happen when the other parent has an privacy 50 or lower.
But even in this profile it went wrong, although both parents had privacy 60. But there is a sister who has another privacy.

I have had this happen too.  It happens on individuals who the system considers to be potentially be living - I don't know what the age cut-off is.

While fixing this error, you can put in a fake death date, make all of the necessary gender corrections, and then remove the date.  Still, it doesn't seem right that the system will automatically lock a previously open profile with no warning.

A warning message before saving would be nice: "The date you've selected will make this profile private; are you certain you want to make this change now?"
@Jillaine: I like your idea. I've ran into this issue too.

Hello Pierre

I've had a quick look.  The same profile is shown for both mother as well as father.

If you go into the profile - click on edit.

This opens up into edit mode - where the family members are on the right - father, followed by mother, followed by siblings etc.

There is under the mother (which in this case is the father), click on add/edit.  This will take you to a new page - this page allows you to add or remove - shown at the top of the page.

Click on 'remove'.

They are now the same, because I already altered one parent.
But maybe removing them before changing does the trick. I will try next time, for now I cannot do anything, because they are all private.

Looks like father was private, so you must be on trusted list to edit.

You can go to changes tab of robert and restore previous data of Robert.

No both parents were privacy 60 before, only the sister was private.
