If you have U.S. Civil War veterans in your family, or are adding sources to Civil War era profiles, you may want to read the FamilySearch blog post about the significant updates they released yesterday to their Civil War historic record collections.  FamilySearch created a new landing page for these records that divides the records into categories by state and by record collection.

I so wish I felt comfortable creating an account with FamilySearch! Still very anti-LGBTQ sad

K Raymoure, go ahead and create an account.  My Mormon (which we're not supposed to use any more) cousins are pro-LGTBQ even though the church isn't.  I'm an atheist, and I have an account.  When I posted during a transcription event about being an atheist, I received positive comments from other (religious) transcribers.  They have an insane reason for providing all these resources, but who cares--take advantage of their insanity.  Or, if you like, I'll let you use one of my accounts.  Just email me directly, and I'll share.
I love I think every Mormon I've ever personally met; even that FamilySearch is run by the LDS church isn't an enormous problem for me. Unfortunately, to create an account they require that you select M or F as a part of that, and since that erases a whole spectrum of folks who have either a more complicated gender (non-binary, transgender, etc.) or more complicated biological sex (intersex; chimerism, etc.) in the context of genealogical work, I can't in a good conscience do it. Worse, when I reached out to FamilySearch about it, they didn't even understand the difference between gender and sexual orientation and sent me a canned response about same sex relationships which was extra frustrating. Your offer is super sweet, thank you!
