Francis Edwin Terry was born in 1844 in Yorkshire England not 1850 near Mudgee.

His parents were Edward Simpson Terry and Anne Cotterell who were married in 1847

I  thought Francis Edwin Terry was born in Kent (GRO index ref Jun 1844 Greenwich 5 205).  Also, I thought that his parents were married near there (GRO index ref  IMar 1843 St Saviour 4 367).

Edward Simpson Terry came from Richmond in Yorkshire. His parents' memorial can still be found in the yard of St Mary's Richmond.

If anybody reading this knows any more of Anne Cotterell, please do say.  All I know is that she came from Pershore or thereabouts, and her father was Joseph.  Searches in Pershore registers have not yet found her.
