Am I the only one that didn't see the Data Base Errors Project???

I am currently working on my 5th generation errors (2) and am stumped on how to correct the error due to DNA evidence...

Is this project new? Please say yes... I would hate to think I have overlooked it "Like Forever"...  The errors listed below have been a thorn in my side for quite some time. Ugh, I need to figure out what I am doing incorrectly and how to fix them. I am not even sure if McCreary is the correct spelling, I have seen it as McCrary and then for Patsy Wells, is it Patsey and was her husband Jordan or Jourdan or any of the other spellings.

Hi Loretta, excuse my ignorance but how, where, etc is the Data Base Errors Project?  What is it?

To anyone else - am I affected by it?
It now has its own menu item under the profile id menu -> "error report"
glad I am not the only one who is having problems with Project: Data base Errors. hopefully your answers to them will also help me.

Don't worry, It's only a couple of months old, but has become popular quickly.  I've done a few corrections, but I'll do more as I have time. And it'll be around a while.  Looking at the data for the past month, corrections would have a half-life of a couple of years.

Hi Lorretta,

I see that Thomas' death date has been changed so he no longer dies 10 years before his daughter is born. You could set this one to temp hide 30 days now so it doesn't show on anyone else's list and it will drop off when the list is rerun on Monday.

With the 2nd one Elizabeth was born when Patsy was 9 years old, so either Patsy's birth year is wrong or Elzabeth's is, back to checking the sources for those two :)

One of my Swiss surname's has about 10 spelling variants  makes the researching interesting doesn't it :). I'm at Generation 19 with the error checker now, but I'm only connected to the global tree by 1 branch so it makes it a bit easier for me. Once you get through your own errors, you will see errors on tree's you connect to so will need to work with those profile managers to :)

how do we connect our tree to the Global tree ?

Your tree is connected, Martha. Basically, that means that some of your ancestors or relatives are related to other people in WikiTree. Documentation of your connection to the global tree is in the item at the bottom of your profile that says "Martha is 26 degrees from Kevin Bacon, 40 degrees from Leonard Cohen, 32 degrees from Bob Dylan, 26 degrees from AJ Jacobs and 25 degrees from Queen Elizabeth II of the Commonwealth Realms on our single family tree. Check your connections or find your genealogical relationship with Martha."
