Michael Schneider was born in 1817 in Volkersleier Germany, who were his parents, brothers, sisters?

Question

Michael Schneider was born in 1817, probably in the "little village" of Volkersleier, northern Bavaria, Germany.  Who were his parents, any brothers, any sisters?  In 1858 he brought his wife, sons Valentine and John G and daughter Barbary to the United States, entering at the port of Baltimore.  He died in Wisconsin in 1871.

Michaelis Schneider born 1 May 1817 could be the right one, but since I am not in this family. This person is the one married to Maria Anna Lehr who are the parents of Valentine Schneider. So I am making an educated guess that Michaelis Schneider is your Michaelis Schneider.  I also went to the ancestry boards/Germany and I found more but I will have to try to find my way back to this site tomorrow.  I came across it by accident. I have to go to bed now but I will help you tomorrow.

I went back to the familysearch/germany site and I found this:  Valentin Schneider ; Christening date 2 june 1856. In Civil, Heiligenstein, Pfalz, Bavaria. Parents are Michael Schneider and Maria Anna Lehr.

I believe that is full German name is ; Johannes Michaelis Schneider born 18 March 1816 in Katholisch, Heiligenstein, Pfalz, Bavaria. Parents are Joanne Schneider and Maria Afrae Notheis.

His parents married Johannes Schneider and Maria Afrae Notheis  8 May 1815 in Heiligenstein, Pfalz, Bavaria.

If you would go to google and put in familysearch/germany and put any name in from Germany and it should come up. But I did not find that he was born in Volkersleier, Germany.

Joannis Schneider and Mariae Afrae Notheis had other children and they are;

Son; Mathaeus Schneider born 6 Aug 1835 in Katholisch, Heiligenstein, Pfalz, Bavaria.

Son; Georgius Sigismundus Schneider born 2 May 1824. In Katholisch, Heiligenstein, Pfalz, Bavaria.

Daughter; Anna Maria Schneider born 23 April, 1822. born in the same place as the other children.

Mariam Annam Lehr- spouse of Michael Schneider and the parents are Jonnis Lehr and Margarethae Caspar. This is on their marriage license in Germany. His full German name is Joannem Michaelem Schneider and they married 27 June 1842.

Everthing I am given you is what they have written in German style. It may or may not be what is written or translated in USA.

It also gave me some marriages of the Schneider children but no birth dates. So I will go back and see if I can get the birth of Michael's Brothers and sisters. I will get back to you.

Völkersleier is now part of Wartmannsroth. The village was historically divided in a catholic and a protestant part. Depending on his religion your best bet is to contact the churches to ask where you can get a hold of old records.
