If  Emile Bedard is "Alfred Emile Bedard," then you can trace the line back quite a ways. Go to [https://www.wikitree.com/genealogy/Bedard-Family-Tree-566] and follow the line back from Alfred (b. 1871) to Jacques Jospeh (b. 1710), then click on his tree. It goes back to Jacques Istorique (b. 1565), then from him to Yonnet (b. about 1450).

If you have an Emile other than the one I listed from my line, your line may intersect with someone along here anyway. I seem to remember that I was elated originally to find that the line is pretty well documented on the internet, so put a Bedard name in Google and then "genealogy;" you should get results.
