How do i know if its ok to post info screenshot of my ancestor found in a online book source?

I found references to my great grandfather in a book that's available to read online,about Bedford co. TENN.is it ok to post screenshot of pertaining info regarding my relative?also death notice on moosetracks?

Thank you everyone! I am a total computer disaster and don't know how to do much more than scroll! Haha so I have the link saved in a email and I can copy that out the old fashioned way and re write it on my source list..it's good information and yes the book is more recent so I won't just post the copied pages. Thank you!

Was it published before 1924? If so, it is safe to post because it is no longer bound by copyright law.

It OK only if the book and or text is not copy right material.

But to use a copy / screen shot of the text from the book most likely would be a copy right infringement.

You could ask for permission from the source of the online book and give credit to the source and author and publisher of the book if granted permission.

You can post the name of the Book and online website ( URL ) location as a source and reference, be sure to give credit.

If you look at the profile http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Mildenhall-53 you can see you can add a link that with one click can take you to the referenced book link you want to use. You can look under the edit tab on any open profile to see how things were done on that profile. If you need assistance there is always a cousin around to help...Jacky
