Merge went the wrong way. Should have gone into an Unknown

+6 votes
I thought I had put a great effort in making sure Phillips-4048 went into Unknown-115864.  I read the link 3 times to make sure the merge went that way before I clicked it. Anyway.... it's wrong. Since Margaret is only presumed to be a Phillips and there is no valid source she should be an Unknown.  Before I do this , should I change her to an unknown since the bio I wrote states she is Unknown. I have her husband's names on her profile and her current name done. And its sourced. And a couple others sources to add.

Trudy, you know that last stage of the merge process-- where you've got two columns and you're choosing which facts to keep? The "target" profile (in this case your "Unknown" profile) should always be on the right. That's an additional way to make sure that the merge is going in the right direction. If your target is not in the right-hand column, use your browser's back button to the previous screen and look for the "switch order" link (might be worded differently) at the top of THAT screen.

Hi Trudy, as you are one of the PMs you should be able edit the Last name at Birth to Unknown.

Thank You Esme. Just making sure it is the correct thing to do.
