Did you know perche-quebec.com has recently partnered with perche.canada.net?

This will bolster perche-quebec.com's excellent website because perche-canada.net taps into the City of Mortagne-au-Perche and Government of Canada funding. Perhaps this organizational coalescence will provide enough impetus to resume operation of Université of Caen's PREFEN which is still in limbo:

"Les banques MIGRANTS et PERCHERONNE seront désormais inaccessibles, jusqu'à une date indéterminée."

Maybe Wikitree should lend a hand to get PREFEN's superlative database back on the rails.

The crucial importance of these foundation databases, such as PREFEN, Fichier Origine and PRDH, is that they anchor ancestor transitions between Europe and Canada.

Yes .. Great essential resource ..

L'ASSOCIATION

The Perche-Canada Association founded in 1957, the Perche-Canada Association’s aim is to renew the ties between the inhabitants of the Perche today and the descendants of the seventeenth century emigrants to perpetuate the memory of this fine page of history by means of cultural activities, voyages and to supporting all commemoration projects."

Here is their current " ÉMIGRANTS PARTIS DU PERCHE POUR LA NOUVELLE-FRANCE " listing.
