Indicating unmarried status?

It is possible to remove references to children, but is it/should it be possible to remove "spouse(s) unknown", when you know someone remained unmarried?

Go to Edit page - On RHS under Spouses, click on “add”. At the top of the new (add spouse) page there is an option to click on “unmarried”. This takes you to the bottom of the page where you can confirm that “John Citizen never married"

I 'm not sure if this is what you mean, but if a person was never married, click on the (add/edit) button , next to Spouse on the right side of Edit page of the profile.

On the next page, scroll to the bottom and choose: This person has no Spouse.  Save!

Thanks both. I didn't find it because it seemed counter-intuitive to "add" zero spouses. :-)
