Researching Ignatius Drury 1828-1903 lived in Franklin County Pennsylvania.

Ignatius Drury was my 2nd Great Grandfather, he may have been born in Maryland. Am unable to find his parents names with any certainty. Only information is father Robert Drury of Virginia dob 1800, mother Sarah, one source says Sarah Simmons of Maryland with a long pedigree, but her birth date of 1774 just doesn't add up. She would have been 50 + in 1825 his year of birth and she would have been 25 years older then Robert. There were several Drurys born in Maryland in the 1700's with the first name of Ignatius, so I believe there may be a connection with them. One may have moved to Kentucky in the early 1800's and resided there. Thank you for any help that can be provided, I am new to all this.

Hi Clyde, welcome aboard.  I'm familiar with that area and can offer a couple of suggestions.  First, I see that there are several census records on Family Search for Ignatius Drury in Franklin County PA, along with a Civil War Soldiers Index record.  There's a Find A Grave entry for Ignatius "Nathan" Drury (d. 1903) in State Line, PA.  They're free sites, and you may get several leads from there.  If you are in the vicinity, the Kittochtinny Historical Society in Chambersburg has a lot of old records from the area.  Also, I think the local libraries in Chambersburg, Greencastle, and Waynesboro all have genealogy rooms with a lot of material, and there is a historical society in Waynesboro as well.  But I would try web searching first.  Good luck.
