Bam, hit a wall! Need parental info for Joseph McKinney b. 1820

Hi, folks! My 3rd gg was Joseph McKinney b. Evansville, Indiana in 1819/1820. His father's name was James and he was an attorney. That's all I have. Hope to find out completely about James and whoever his spouse was. Thank you!

Whoa! Hang on, 1880 Census says father from KY! Totally over-looked that. Time to do more digging!

I very much appreciate your help. At one time, I thought my relative in question may indeed have had relatives in KY, including the father James; however, with Joseph being born in Indiana I don't see how this would make sense.

Also, I have seen a picture of who I thought might be Joseph's father. Quite frankly, he looks much more like a farmer than an attorney.
