I am Lockhart-2520, and looking for grave site of John Lockhart, son of Jehu Lockhart. Info I have is from a letter my grandfather,J.B.Lockhart wrote to a W.W.Leonard:

" Uncle Johnie just been dead a few months a horse...rolled over him the saddle horn masked his liver. They burried him at Cherokee in San Saba Co.about 6 miles from us...grandpa( J.W.Lockhart) heard water rose in his grave after he was buried.....J.W. moved him to a little bald top mountain on the Llano,San Saba county line, 3 miles up the Little Llano Creek from Wellborn's Glen, north side of creek, and about 600-700 yds. from Babyhead and Cherokee Road.

Llano, pronounced Ya-no. You may have much difficulty as all the land in Babyhead / Little Llano Creek area is private, there used to be a Camping, Fish & Dig Camp there. I have researched, traveled, vacationed in this area while learning to be a Gold Prospector here in N.E. Texas. While you can find "Precambrian" Gold (AU) flake all over Texas(aprox. 3-7 microns), there are basically only two places to find gold in Texas: Llano / San Saba & El Paso; Counties. There is a of chapter of the G.P.A.A. (Gold Prospectors Association of America) http://www.goldprospectors.org/ . This Org charges yearly memberships, to attend their outings & some private land mining claims. Prospecting has a steep learning curve, I ♥ it. If you contact some of the members in Round Rock / llano chapter, they might help you pinpoint the exact location :) http://www.roundrockgpaa.net/ they normally have two outings a year. :) JPVIV
