Is there a way to search by town, city?

Hi David, please clarify - you just want to search for a place? Not a person?

Go to Google and enter a search string that includes site:Wikitree.com  and the place name of interest. If you put the place name in quotation marks -- such as "Williamstown, Vermont" or "Williamstown Orange Vermont" you'll get reasonably focused results.

The Database Errors tool might just work for you.  If you go to Database Errors and put the name of the town, city or county in the Search By Location field, you will get all profiles with that location.  Of course, if it is a common name, you will be inundated with false results, but you might be able to make it work.
