merge waiting period

+9 votes
On 5 May 2016 I proposed a merge of Tremblay-337 into Trombley-706 and a merge of Tremblay-338 into Trombley-730.

The manager of the Tremblays is inactive so I should be enabled to complete the merge after 30 days, right? On June 4 I attempted to complete the merge (too soon). Did I reset the 30 day clock? I still can’t complete it on June 7.

Unfortunately, it appears to me that by trying to complete the merge before it had defaulted, you reset the date. To avoid having this upsetting experience in the future, use Find > Pending Merges (under the Find tab) and select "Pending Merges Initiated by Me" to find merges you proposed that are ready to be completed.

I've done that a couple of times - live and learn!

Richard, once you've proposed a merge, DON'T tamper with it until you see this message [You can complete this merge after a final comparison.] - the bold text will be a green link highlighted in yellow.

You can also use the Unresponsive Managers procedure [ ] to speed up the process.

I was afraid of that. I re-merged on day 29 so guess it will be a 2 month wait unfortunately.

I would give it a few couple more days most of that stuff seems to update once a day so depending on when you did the initial merge request it may of been after that days update.
