Hi Donald, you are just down the road from me :)  Well not far anyway.  I'm in Cardiff.
I have been researching my family for the past 16 years & now have a tree containing 3,500 names. A bit over the top some might say, but still adding names. I have started on the task of transferring this info on to This is a world wide free site with optional dna recording.

I find there are side benefits from genealogy research that are not expected when you start out on this journey. I have re-united family members with long lost & unknown relatives & discovered the trades & professions of my ancestors. I have also seen how the demography of the UK has changed with the move of population from a rural economy to an industrial one.
