I just received an email that stated my .GED file was ready to download. I couldn't save it in .GED only in text file which is useless to me.  I have window 8 and I use Firefox and Explore; I tried them both but couldn't save them in .GED only text. Please help. thank you...Lise

A Ged file is a text file so does it matter?!?!?

If you think its important I suggest just change the extension .txt to .ged

Magnus,

I tried that and it comes back as a text file....Lise
ok, I was able to get the .ged file going....I have sent it to another email and right click on the link (do not open the link) and save link as.ged and it will work. I was able to uploaded it to my FTM file....Thanks to Magnus.
