You add more information for your Lamb family like year of birth, name, spouses name, location where he lived, or date of death. One of us grabs that data and blows your mind.

Or you can go to familysearch.com and enter the data yourself.

Nobody's blown my mind yet....it's been all hard slog for me. I use mainly familysearch.org to ascertain/verify dates for known family members, then make profiles for them and add their parents, siblings and their children. Occasionally whilst doing this, a suggested match is thrown up that is actually a match to someone in someone else's tree and we link trees (but mostly the suggested matches are not real matches). Finding the census records can be a real source of info.
Hmmm. We try to blow at least one mind a day. Maybe your turn is just around the corner.

Sorry you're having such a tough time.

Hello and welcome Cecil

WikiTree is designed to be free for everyone and we all volunteer and create/manage profiles - making it one large tree.  This helps you/me/others.  We all contribute.

You can start your research by using free resources: familysearch.org or join paid genealogy websites such as Ancestry or FindMyPast.

We help where we can.  Once you are full member you can add your parents/siblings/grandparents and build up your Ancestors and/or add your Descendants.

There are also privacy controls you can use if you wish to keep some of your information or family private.

Hi Cecil and welcome to Wikitree :)

As Betty and T. Cassidy have already said, you start with yourself, add your parents and close family and build from there.

I know getting started can be a little overwhelming, so if you look to the top right of the page you will see 4 tabs, which turn into drop down menus. The 4th tab which is the help tab has many sections covering a variety of topics which you may need help with at some point. The Help Index link there is a good place to start. Open up the letter G there and scroll down to Genealogy..getting started. All you need to know to get on the first step is there. You have already made a big step by finding this G2G which is the hub of communication and friendly help.

If you don't understand something or get stuck please do come and ask right here on G2G. Someone will jump in and try and help you. Just remember to give full information in the text of the question :)

Good luck and happy researching
