was Arkange (archange) Arsenault 1828 native?

1861 census lists Archange wife of Luc Robichaud (1825) and children as native. The 1871 census lists them as French. In 1861 the last child is listed as Anthony 1yr and he has dissapeared in the subsequent census. He is my mother in law's grandfather and Luc was her great grand father.

I don't know for sure but I don't think she was native if that census record is the only evidence that would support it. Her baptism entry in the church records looks like any normal Acadian's. Also, did the term "native" mean in 1861 what it does now?
