How to remove a bad category

Categories are interesting - essentially, they go away if you stop using them, but if someone tries to use it again, it might pop back up. I don't know of any way to actually "delete" anything on WikiTree (profiles, free space pages, categories, etc.). I suppose there might be a way to repurpose it, but I'd have to think through that to see if it would be completely repurposed or if it would leave remnants behind.

Categories don't go away if you stop using them.  

Categories that have no parent category get added to the Uncategorized Cats List.  

Members of the Categorization Project and other helpful WikiTreers go through this list and try to work out where those categories belong on the tree.  When it's determined that it's an accidentally created category or a duplicate, it gets added to the one of the following categories:

Hello Robert!  To remove a bad category you created you go into the profiles edit section then go down to the very beginning of the biography section and delete that category.  Be sure to save it or it won't remove it. Hope this helps answer your question.
