Parents of William Kimball (b. 1804?, Vermont; md. 1833 Amanda Westbrook)

Question

Stephen Kimball was born on 01 October 1777,  Hopkinton, Merrimack Co., New Hampshire (and  brother Jesse born there in 1782), youngest  sons of James Kimball and Meribah Roberts  (who moved to Sheldon, Vermont). I am trying  to prove that either Stephen or Jesse is the  father of William Kimball (b. 1804-1805?,  Vermont; married 1833, Cuyahoga Co., Ohio,  to Amanda Westbrook). Records show William  was born in Vermont, grew up somewhere in  New York state, married in Ohio, and died in  Michigan. I suspect Stephen Kimball is his  father (who had a son the right age in 1810  and 1820 Census), but they leave Sheldon,  Vermont, about 1813. William Kimball is not the son of Stephen Kimball.  William is actually son of John Kimbell (Kimbell-181).
