How did Arthur J Gagne, Jr. get the name "Raymond?"

+8 votes
There is mounting evidence that Raymond Arthur Gagne, born in Fitchburg, MA, 25 November 1925, is the same person as Arthur J Gagne, Jr.

Both of them are listed as the son of Arthur J Gagne and Ida Pelletier (Rootsweb & FamilySearch, etc.). Marriage Certificates, Birth data, and Census Data all suggest that Arthur J and Ida Gagne had one child and the one child was "Arthur J" as well as "Raymond Arthur."

Perhaps the full name is Raymond Arthur J Gagne. Can anyone explain this?

* -- Ada E., wife; b MA of French Canadian father and Rhode Island mother

Thanks. This does require more than one item of support. The YourFolks report is confirmed by two marriage certificates for Raymond A Gagne of Fitchburg (Family Search). Both certificates list Raymond, his father Arthur J Gagne, and his mother Ida Pelletier. The 1st marriage is confirmed by a 1948 newspaper article in Nashua, NH  that also lists Raymond and his father Arthur J (Ida/Ada died in 1939).
