Robert Davis(Davies) was son of Sir Thomas Davies of the London Company. His brother, James was recorded to have been born 1580. Historians indicate he was on board Sir Walter Raleigh's barque, his brother's voyages, and the Sea Venture which was part of the Third Supply to make a Virginia colony.
