The note I  posted about the small bio for some of the Abernathy family in Texas is a .pdf file that loads when you click on it.  TEXAS HISTORIC SITES INVENTORY FORM - TEXAS HISTORICAL COMMISSION  in the source area.  I have transcribed some of it onto his biography in Wikitree.   [Abernathy-626].  If anyone wants to read it so far without having to go to the link.

(Anyone know of a FREE .pdf converter, to .doc?  I can't afford them and the free ones so far are not so great.  Thanks.)

You don't have a PDF. That site has not made one available for download. The link provides image views into the book, for use in research. They are trying to control the data. Please follow their links on their side panel titled "Citations, Rights, Re-Use" for more info.

My apologies, there is a note in the source area to a .pdf file that loads when you click on it.  TEXAS HISTORIC SITES INVENTORY FORM - TEXAS HISTORICAL COMMISSION.

Thanks, Betty
It now shows the link, which still opens as a .pdf file. When I open it I see nothing about Citations, Right, Re-use.  I am not seeing this.  Help please.
yep. that new link is a pdf. and most of the text is selectable for copy/paste. there's no real reason to convert it to a .doc file.

Guess I shouldn't bother then.  When I tried to copy and paste it would not allow me to do so and have the correct characters be copied.  As follows:

Which is why I posted what I did.  As you can see, is isn't all readable.

It is also the same link used before, which just opened. I just added the actual verbiage of the link to the source.

yeah, the problem is, its OCR text from an image. So most of the text is the computer's best guess. You will have to manually clean up any unrecognizable characters.

Bummer, thought something was hinky.  Didn't know what tho. Thanks for the help! :)
