A great day for me genealogy-wise.

Two things I was looking forward to happened in the last day.  First a 1st cousin once removed got her DNA results up on GEDmatch and it's lots of fun to have a match which shows lots of large matching segments,.  A total of 586+ cM, more than 10 times more than in the next closest match.

The second thing I was looking forward to was becoming G2G6 Pilot. which came while I was sleeping last night.

So, since this is supposed to be a question, what milestones have your reached in your genealogical adventures lately?

That's great Dave. I'm sure  you will make further discoveries along the way.  I made a huge discovery in my family tree recently on Ancestry.com that  lead to a very historic lineage. I was able to create new profiles and connect others here on WikiTree. It was my biggest discovery to date since working with my family history.  You and anyone who pursues this hobby diligently will have many more surprises awaiting them.

Congratulations on Pilot status. I remember a certain sense of satisfaction on achieving it.

I recently completed a book for my two daughters and future generations about their family history and searching for it. Obviously this is still an ongoing process but I felt it was time to put something down on paper.

First, Congrats on your accomplishments!

Recently, I received 2 very good leads (from WikiTree members) to identify the parents of an ancestor. I've been pulling my hair out for months trying to find his parents. Needless to say,  I can move forward rather than spin my wheels in the sand.  Doing the happy dance!

Not so much a milestone - but something that made me feel good.  Recently had a few 'private' messages sent from my profile page to thank me for 'certain' profiles I had created.  The profile/s had helped them with their own research.

If nothing else that was a boost to keep me going.

Congrats 'Pilot'

Congrats on your Pilot license :D and DNA matches.

My milestone :D.  For the past couple years, I've been expanding tree branches by adding distant relations of ancestors siblings-spouses-inlaws-etc, etc, with priority to those that I can link with profiles already here on our unified big tree - recently noticed that on the bottom of the db_errors report are the total # of profiles I'm connected to - 23,100 YEAH :D

At least it wasn't a buzz droid.  (We've been rewatching the StarWars heptology.
I don't know what a buzz droid is. Guess I'll have to watch Star Wars again as well.

Well, I didn't really expect you to know, but that's what search engines are for.  They appear at the beginning of Episode 3 when Anakin and Obi Wan are flying to rescue the chancellor and these things land on the wing of Obi Wan's ship and start boring into it.
I get them all mixed up. Thanks for the clarification.

Betty
