Memorials of the Earl of Stirling and of the House of Alexander (1877) state that Hugh Alexander's 2nd wife, Lucy Corry, was the daughter of Col. Corry of Ahenis Castle, County Tyrone, ancestors of the Earls of Belmore (p. 69).

Lucy (Corry-73), however, has not proven to be the daughter of Col. John Corry, M.P.(Corry-74), though that Col. Corry had four daughters.  Col. John's father, Col. James Corry, as far as I could discover, had only one son (John) and a daughter named Elizabeth.  So I'm wondering who is this Col. Corry (Corry-165) of Ahenis Caslte and who was his wife?  Any help would be appreciated.

Searching the sources for the Earls of Belmore, I discovered additional information about Col. James Corry, including the fact that he had a surviving daughter, Lucy Corry, from the marriage to his second wife, Lucy Mervyn.  I already knew Lucy Mervyn Corry's first daughter with Col. James Corry had died in infancy.  Lucy Corry may have been born as early as 1687 or as late as 1690, making her at least 10 years older than her husband, Hugh Alexander.  That probably means she was Hugh's first wife and the mother of her children.  After Lucy's death, Hugh then married Rachel Birney.

The problem is solved.
