Frank, not the right Anna. My Anna is in the 1900 census with my greatgrandfather Theodore and they lived in Evansville. I do really appreciate your trying to help, I have been stuck in this spot for years. We are pretty sure that Adam who was born in Germany in 1847, lived in Evansville by the time he was 16 and was a shoemaker was either Theodore's brother or cousin. I did find some cousins but they don't know anything more, in fact I told them alot that they had no idea of just from ancestory, mormans etc. Anyway, thanks again!
Did you find anymore information on the Lutz family?

Please e-mail me privately.
No, I keep getting Anna, daughter of Henry on 1900 census a servant, but my gg Anna was married to my ggpa and had 4 children by then.  He was a blacksmith/machinest and she stayed home and took care of the 2 girls and 2 boys the youngest of them was my grandfather Theodore Carl born 5/25/1900. Thanks for trying to help. I belive the wedding certificate will show her name as Anna Marie Geisser.

One thing many people don't think of for Germans in the Midwest is the Volga German Colonies. I don't know if it will help, but there are many websites that are dedicated to this, and they have not only good information, but cite sources and even have maps and pictures along with lists of surnames.

Just a thought

(conveniently placed for the Volga German Project that I am trying to get some people to help me with!)

There is a Lutz family that was based in Baltzer, a Volga German colony in Russia. These families came from the Palatinate, Isenburg, Hessen-Darmstadt, and Baden-Baden, in Germany and belonged to the Reformed (Calvinist) Church at the time.

Many of them migrated to the Mid-Western US. Worth checking out. If you want I could give you some resources to try and check manifests and census' from that area of Russia.

Found a marriage of Friederich Johan that listed Anna as Gaisser, another bit had it as Gesser. I'd check all spellings, but here's a census from 1910.
