Monroe Franklin Hemphill died in 1868 in Montgomery County, Illinois. He married Julia Ann Thompson in 1856 in Rowan County NC. His son was Theodore Monroe Hemphill born in 1862 in Gold Hill Rowan, NC.

Here is a hint that might help you.  When the Marriage Bond was issued for the marriage of M.F. Hemphill and Julia A. S. Thompson, the bondsman was James Tausay and the witness was J.S.
