Can you tell me how to use this thing to dig up data on my ancestry in one sentence?

I am looking for information on my ancestry. You have a data bank. How can I access it?

A response in something less than 10,000 word and multiple screens would be appreciated.

On your own profile, your surname is underlined.  Click on it and it'll show you all the Thornes we've got.  Frankly they'll be a drop in the ocean, but you might recognise some as likely relatives.  WikiTree doesn't know which they are.  Contrary to the impression given by some firms' advertising, most of the genealogy hasn't been done yet.

Start add what you know about yourself and your ancestors to WikiTree. Then other people will start matching your family tree and you will be connected

The point of Wikitree is for members to contribute information, and what connections we may find are the potential reward.

Search for your ancestors one a time or upload a GEDCOM to have them all searched.

Do not become a full member -- stay as a guest member -- unless you want to work together in a community to grow a single family tree.
