And in 1920 he isn't listed in their home. A male child named "Lorin", age 1 7/12 months is listen in their household as their Grandson. He isn't with his purported Mother, Zella LuDean (Keel) Wimmer. She is found in the 1920 census, newly married, living with her Husband, Walter Wimmer.

I'm guessing that Zella had Bacil out of wedlock (father could be unknown or Walter Wimmer). Maybe his grandparents raised him?

Born May 5, 1918 in Hayden, Utah, son of John and Levina Keel. Married Weltha V. Lamb, September 12, 1939; she died October, 1981. Married Flora Merkley Singleton, May 3, 1988. 

Survived by wife, Vernal; children, Mrs. Don (Colleen) Petersen, Ferron; Ron and Shirley Ann Keel, Randlett; Robert and Carrie Keel, Vernal; two stepchildren, Robert Dennis and Wanda Singleton, Tatum, New Mexico; Mrs. Charles (Connie) Pope, Vernal; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four half-sisters, Mrs. Maurice (Verna Lee) Burton, Mrs. Dan (LuDean) Boel, both of Salt Lake; Mrs. Lorraine Seigmiller, St. George; Mrs. Earl (Ravoila) Whittle, West Jordan.

Looks like it's one of those - teenage daughter has a baby raised by her parents as theirs.

The obit sticks with the line for the parents, but comes clean by naming the Wimmer girls as half-sisters.  Which also says Mr Wimmer wasn't Bacil's dad.
