Margaret Hanna McElderry born 1808, parents are unknow. She married John McElderry b 1799. John was in Ross township, Jefferson County aproximately 1923 to 1930. I believe Ross or Stubenville  is where he  married Margaret Hanna. Captain William Hanna born 1770  was in Stubenville, Jefferson County, ohio about this same time. Running a Ferry boat. Then Captain William  moved back later in life near Hannah's run, Liberty, Adams County, Ohio. This is near John McElderry's parents homestead, Johnathan Webster McElderry born 1771, moved from Strabane. Washington county, Pennsylvania after 1810. In Strabane 1810 Census there is Thomas Hanna and Hugh Hanna. I listed a lot of info and more sources can be found on Margaret Hanna's page. I'm really stuck!! There is so many Hannah's in ohio. There is also Rev. Robert Hanna in the area as well. Hanna or Hannah the spelling of the surname changes between the two. Appreciate any help,  Thanks!

Another possibility is Henry Hanna 1738-1820. He was a Revolutionary Patriot. He was also living in the same area, Jefferson County, Ohio. I know how names are passed down for generations and the First Child of Margaret and John McElderry was Henry Hanna McElderry born 1831. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=102826934 I'll continue to update, as I find possibilities of  Margaret's birth Parents.

I know genealogy is suppose to be bottom up, BUT you might try top down. Hugh and Hannah (McCormick) Brady settled in Cumberland Co. PA in the 1740's. Both of their daughters, Mary and Margaret married Hanna(h) men. You might try searching some of their descendants on this site and through Rootsweb WorldConnect to see if you can find them. On WorldConnect I go to trees, enter a surname, another page will come up with all of that surname. Scroll to the bottom where you will find a box to refine your search. Add the surname of the spouse.

Hope this helps.
