Niek, I do not believe there are any WikiTree "certified" sources. Some Sources are better than others and those from a government agency would score higher on my list, but there could still be problems. With the Social Security database I would trust a name spelling for the current name, birth date and death date however I normally see only the month and year of death in them because that is what they are concerned with.

Any source is better than no source and with more sources you can prove your conclusions better, so add them.

Thank you for your answer Dale
To add to Dale's answer, one reason that the Social Security index is a reliable source is that the Social Security Administration (SSA) requires an original proof of citizenship (usually a birth certificate) and a separate proof of identity (such as driver's license) when a person applies for a Social Security number, and a death certificate as proof of death.

When SSA changed benefit calculations in the 1980s, they started recording only the month of death.  Older records list the complete date of death.
Thank you for your anwer Star
I would also like to add  - SSI records can also link you over to any relatives who are collecting the income after the death. I found a trove of resources for my family like location of relatives collecting the SSI and it put me in touch with those relatives otherwise lost to me.
