My name is Chuck and I am near Pittsburgh.
Just joined today and haven't begun to understand Wikitree services or formats, but looking forward to learning more.
I have been doing a lot of research on my family tree using Ancestry.com and think I've gone as far as I can on mu own and ancestry's resources are no longer producing relevant results. Hoping to get some fresh input. Pleased to contribute what I can .
Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads.

Chuck

Happy Week End to All!

I hope everyone had a great week. For me, sourcing has been my focus .

Outside of Wikitree, I love to garden & this time of year is my favorite. The flowers are in full glory & I have a hummingbird air force in my yard.

What's new?

I tend the garden at the rectory.  It's nice to work with soil and plants.  I also have a pack of dakloos (homeless) kitties there, and escargot, Yikes!   :D

Thanks for starting the weekend chat Doug now that's a great looking flower !

And Vincent it sounds like you're enjoying yourself eeh, how is the weather, I think it's better than in our lately pretty wet Dutch Country dancing in  the rain here :P Not cold though so as soon as the sun comes trough it's nice weather again, not too hot , not too cold, so not complaining here.

Last weekend we have been working hard at our summer ''camp'', preparing everything for the annual family reunion for my mother's family, every year they spend a whole weekend or sometimes if the weather is good almost a week together. Was a whole lot of work but well, the surrounding wood, gras and house now look great again. :)

Have a great weekend everyone !

I think I brought the weather with me from Nederland.  It's only been raining and fris for weeks on end.  :(
The flower is a Canna developed in Holland.

A good weekend to all.  Have been busy the past 2 weeks cleaning out the utility room because I was getting a new refrigerator, now need to get things back in order.  Finally got control of my mother's profile and have changed my profile so others can read the bio.  I joined in Feb. so still learning and am trying to start up a support group for WikiTree here in Lansing, MI, (hope to start meeting next month).

Got a message regarding a Matchbot Merge which I did not understand and tried to find in the "Help Index" but did not see anything so then checked G2G where I found an explanation.  This is not the first time this has happened, someone needs to update the "Help Index". I have found situations like this on other sites and genealogy programs, it gets frustrating. Have more comments about this later on.

Got lots of yard work so won't get much genealogy done today (beautiful day!), not to mention re-arranging the garage so we can get the car in it.

Hope to get more added about my step-grandfather here as I want to alert all my cousins on all lines, where to find their lineage.  Really like the concept here, but there is a lot to do yet.

Hope everyone finds a new ancestor or relative this week!

Well it's supposed to be extremely hot in the Phoenix area the next few days.  So I doubt we'll get out.  But that just leaves more time for genealogy, assuming the electrical system holds up.  I like the new Biography Builders and have been using the suggestions to redo my grandpa Miller-32250 's profile.  I have a little more to do, but I'm not sure how much more there is to get to the next resting point so if anyone wants to give me more advice here or through PM I'd appreciate it.

Just received an email from a very distant cousin who found my Klabauchs/Klabouchs here and sent me additional information on his line. He left Czechoslovakia in 1968 and lives in Sweden now. It will be interesting to find out more about our connections.

Also had an email a couple of weeks ago from a cousin in the Czech Republic who shared his research on the Klabouch origins with new information for me to follow up.

All in all a very fruitful month so far.

Rodeo Weekend in Evergreen, a great time for father's day.

I have enjoyed two bloody noses today with the change in weather.  80's and 90's all week.  I get them every time there is a dramatic change in weather Winter to Summer and Summer to Winter.  We hardly have a Spring or Fall.

Chipping away at getting the house ready for our big move out east, whenever that happens.

Hello and a happy weekend to all.

Returned home this evening, parked up and low and behold - in the enclosed garden round the block of flats where I live were two ponies?  Talk about catching me totally unaware.

Anyway where I am it's midnight, we've had a mixed week of weather, rain, sun, rain, sun - everyday - I wish it would make up it's mind but constantly both - umbrella, sandals, sunglasses and raincoat.

Have a great weekend all.

Hi everyone. Among my many personal projects the one I enjoy the most is US Women in the Military especially during World War II and the Vietnam War.

I have been working on the category http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:US_Women%27s_Army_Corpsand in the past three weeks added 28 new profiles of ladies who joined the service during the 1940's- 1960's. At that time they were a part of the Women's Army Corps, not yet the regular Army.(They were intergreted in 1978 and the WAC was disbanned) It was created as an auxiliary unit, the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC) on 15 May 1942 by Public Law 554, and converted to full status as the WAC on 1 July 1943. About 150,000 American women eventually served in the WAAC and WAC during World War II, Korea and Vietnam.

My cousin Sandra Davidson has added nine profiles as well. She shared an interesting photo featuring who found "Salvaged parachute turned eloquent gown"  worn by T/3 Alice Chemistruck. http://www.wikitree.com/g2g/262628/shared-photo-alice-halloran-image-1

Anyway if you have relatives who served in the "WAC" (US Woman's Army Corps) please add your profile to the category (mentioned above) as well. It is different then the "Army Nurse Corps" that served bravely as well especially during the Vietnam War.

Greetings from Brightlingsea, Essex, England. A dull but dry start to the weekend. But still a weekend full of interest. The town is commemorating the arrival of ANZAC troops in 1916. It is 100 years since the ANZACs  were in Brightlingsea as part of the Engineering Training Depot.

This is being commemorated in a number of events including our carnival procession having an Australian theme. A parade and service on Sunday. morning. Followed by a cricket match between Brightlingsea and an Australia House XI.

Quite a big event for a small town ..................

It is sunny and clear here in Michigan!  Tonight we are taking my hubby out for Father's Day!  Today we are home caring his mom until his brother gets home from work.

I have been adding sources to my grandparents family members and adding children and sibling profiles.  I want to see who my living cousins belong to and connect with them.  I don't have many living relatives on WikiTree but have found a few unknown cousins who have connected with me.  i really do enjoy WikiTree.

Have a great weekend and Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there!

Gone Fishin'.

Betty
by Betty Fox G2G6 Pilot (185k points)

I caught two fishies. I only got to keep one, though. One of them was a native and we had to throw that one back. It was the biggest one too. Shucks!.The first picture is the native. The second one is the one I'm eatin'.

That's the first fish I ever caught in my life.
