Are we adding our Relationship to the profile now?

Today on my Watchlist I noticed a few of my profiles had edits. When I looked at them I found that someone had added an ==Acknowledgement== section (which is okay) and a paragraph that this profile was edited by so-and-so and the relationship between them.  Is this something new we're adding?

(Example: Thanks to [Doe-10|John Doe] for editing this profile. Henry and John are third cousins 2 times removed. Click the Changes tab for the details of contributions by John Doe and others.)

That wording looks auto-generated to me.  That person could have copied the wording from another place though and edited it for their purpose. I remember somewhere there was a guideline or recommendation not to personalize profiles, which included adding our relationship.

P.S. Acknowledgements should be plural, just like Sources, even if there is only one to start with.
Sorry, "Acknowledgement" was plural, it was a typo on my part.
Impressed......not so much!...  :D  (I prefer to look in the changes tab when a profile is well done.)

I've not seen anything to that effect.  I suspect the editor figured it was polite to indicate why s/he was"qualified" to do editing on that/those profile(s).   Makes sense, but you can ignore or emulate as you wish.  I know some times it bugs me if someone adds edits which don't match the way I'm doing things, but I have so many relatives to add and little or no time to do it, so I don't worry and just harmonize things the next time I'm working on that profile.

That's a good point you make, Dave, about connecting yourself to the profile. In this case the person did no editing the the profiles, he just added the blurb. However, it does give a connection as to why one would be editing a profile when you are actually editing one. I usually request an invite to the trusted list if there are multiple profile managers and I'm doing lots of editing or just send a private message and explain, but good point! Thanks.

I added my relationship to my Step grand father but as a source for personal knowledge of his preferred name. His preferred name was listed as Six but he actually prefered S.L. or Bish. So  when I made the change I verified my knowledge. But if everyone who is related added a comment as to relationship like that one profiles would be ridiculously crowded.
