Stuck in 1812 with my 2nd GGF, Isaac Humes 1812 to 1891. Where do I look when I don't know his parents name?

Isaac Humes 6-6-1812 Carlisle, Cumberland, PA to 6-6-1891 Columbus, Frankilin, OH.

No birth record. Marriage record has parents listed as Humes.

One census says father was born in Scotland and another says Ireland.

Not sure where to look to find their names.

Do you have a death record ?   Do you know any siblings - perhaps their marriage or death records might have some information.

On the records, it always just says Humes for the parents. I am not aware of any siblings. Thank you!

I added what sources I could find to the profile. The middle names of his children may provide clues to his mother's maiden name. Also, the cemetery where he is buried may know more than what is listed on the index. Perhaps the name of the funeral home is still on record at the cemetery.

Thank you so much! That is so kind of you to take the time and do that. I will look through what you have added to see if it is anything that I have not seen. Thanks again!
