Followed Tags and LNAB Variations: I Need Suggestions!!

Variations in spelling will be the death of me for sure!  :-O

Problem is, I've max'd out of tags because I am following variations in spelling.  For instance, 4 variations of LNAB for g-g-grandmother Katharina -- Eiseman, Eisemann, Eisenman, and Eisenmann.  And 4 variations for g-grandmother Anna -- Lipman, Lippman, Lipmann, and Lippmann.

Except for the Grautegen branch, other surnames were free of credible variations, and I can follow them with one tag each.

But LNAB of that darn Grautegen branch varied a LOT.  I would like to follow those variations, but... maximum 20 tags.

G2Gers, what good suggestions (not flippant) can you offer?

Gosh I can't offer any help as I don't have an answer.  What I do is periodically go to the profile of a name click on the top section to search for that name - just to see if there are any new names with that surname.  As with my Merrilees ONS - the name can vary from Myrilees, Merrylees, Merles, Meriles, and the list is just endless.  I keep a schedule of every one.

In my case I literally start at Merrilees-1 and work my way through it, then start at Myrilees-1 and work my way e.g. Myrilees-2, Myrilees-3 etc... Very longwinded but very accurate for me.

The names are German try following German surnames.

For uncommon names, there is a very low frequency of editing activity and G2G posting. Therefore, I don't think it makes much sense to use up your tag allotment on spelling variants. As T Cassidy notes, it should be sufficient to manually check the variant spellings every now and then.
